Rio de Janiero -- first stop (13 February 2008)
Staying in Mar Ipanema hotel for the first two nights to get over the jet lag. Only one block from Ipanema beach which is sweet, four milky white dudes, ha gonna be hilarious at the start!!
Stayed in mellow yellow hostel for the rest of the nites. Caprinhas at happy hour only 2 reas dollars!! Food was alrite and events on during the day and at nightime, only problem was bed bugs that ger got but they didnt seem to like my blood, maybe cos they were asleep when i was falling into bed every morning!! Ipanema beach is really cool, posta 9 is where all the cariocas hang out, met a local brasilian girl that showed us around, was there most of the day, so u can expect that we all got burnt to a cinder!!! waves were savage at the beach, hence i look like a lobster now, ive got a new nose aswell!!
So went out to a club called melt, pretty good but very pricey part of town to go out in. Left there to go to copcabana and stayign in mellow yellow hostel at the mo, not that best sleeping wise but who cares, always shit going on here, tours every day and night!
Went to lapa another nite, street party to thte max, dudes just having speakers in their boots of their cars, people break dancing and generally going nuts!
Then sunday went to marcana stadium was a local derby, flamengo V vasco, flamengo won thank god as we were sitting beside all of them!! about 80000 at the match, fans are nuts, getting the metro back to copacabana was jam packed, think i lost a stone on the metro!!
Going to the statue of christ tour this evening, should be pretty cool up there, mite actually bring my camera for once and take some pics, havent taken one yet....
Will try and update this later, as have to book other shit before i leave here friday for ilha de grande, chou!!
Statue of christ was alrite, only problem was when we got up there it was pissing rain!! :-( my bloody luck! but took a few snaps so will try to upload them later when i actually find a cafe that has a decent internet speed!!
Favelas tour was pretty cool, went to a favela and got a motorbike up to the very top to see around, was a good laugh, just see how the other side live, supposedly you can pick your own spot and build your gaff, i always wanted a villa abroad!! I didnt see any guns on dudes but ger said he did!!
Went hang gliding then last week, was pretty cool jumping off a roof up over 400m high, could see all of rio when i was up in the air.
Oh yeah nearly forgot went to help nightclub, what a crazy place, for once a nightclub in rio that you dont have to queue up for, and girls are very chatty.....

Ilha de Grande -- (21-23 feb)
Unbeliveable place, island just south of rio, people are totally chilled out there. first day went to the green lagoon and went snorkelling, was really good fun, long trip back to the port tho as the boat we got must have been using a lawnmower engine!!!!
the second day went to this amazing beach called lopes mendes, def the best beach ive ever seen in my life, clear crystal water, fine golden sand and dealy waves for a boogey board not that i could actually use it, gave up and jsut drank beer instead and lay out! tan is coming along pretty good, just need a few more weeks!!
the hostel we stayed in overnatavia green hostel was the steal of the century, 15 reas dollars a night including breakfast and our own triple room ensuite!!

Paraty -- (23-25 feb)
Not much going on here, just a place to crash before heading to sao paulo on a long bus ride. weather was pretty shitty here so didnt hit the beach, just drank beer as usual! Its all cobbled stones in the old town so you can imagine my feet are goosed wearing flip flops around... Beat ger and niall in a pizza contest 16 ïnch pizzas and ate the most slices, im actually constantly hungry over here, i ,might actually put on weight!!
Sao Paulo -- (26 feb -1st march)
Ok where to start! Its exactly what i needed after rio, clubs to the max. hostel we stayed in was called casa club hostel, in villa madelna really nice area. hostel is only three months old so the dorms are really modern and clean, beds were seriously comfy even if i was fallen into them around 6 in the morning!! cool thing about the hostel is that at night time local brasilians can call into the bar aswell, so met two cool sisters, bruna and diana (they a ctually could speak english by the way aswell!!) and headed out with them to club milo, kind of electronica/funky music but was a really good laugh. the next day, just chilled out in the hostel and went out again this time to club edge, what a club i was in heaven!! house music and the interior inside was awesome, walls were lit up like graphical amplifiers, so was the roof and lights, left there around 6 in the morning and fell into bed to check out at 12! i know diana is checking this so have to say shes a cool hot girl!! ;-) funny thing over here is that people live in fortresses due to the dangers in the city, many people get robbed or kidnapped, thankfully i wasnt doing too much walking around!! the lads seem to think that im bad luck as its been raining in sao paulo aswell so fingers crossed floripa will have better weather as i need a break from drinking before we hit BA for paddys weekend!!
Overall sao paulo is a great place, great people and great nightlife i darent say it but they can party nearly as good as us!!
Floripa -- (2nd march - 8th march )
Staying in barra da lagoa in a private apartment, a minutes walk from a surfers beach.Still havent surfed yet but will soon i promise... Topping up on the tan its very warm here, takes the energy out of you!
love this place though, just lazing it on the beach all week, took two surfing lessons aswell, first one not so great but the second one went better, just learning how to stand up correctly and take a wave on a 9 1/2 foot board.
went into centro another day just to watch the champions league, go on ronaldo!! was at jacquina beach today, really cool place was a surfers championship on, waves were cool for swimming too.
just got to conclude about this place,girls are absolutely amazing, no seriously unbeliveable, ratio is def more girls than guys, pity i have no portuguese,sucks ass!! tan is coming along nicely tho!!! ;-)
